Last Friday, I eventually managed to go to the famous Bi’lin demonstration. I touched on it briefly in the post entitled “The power of ‘one-persons”. I don’t want to repeat myself, so please read it if you haven’t done it already. There is a link in that post that you can follow if you want to find out more about it.

Bear in mind that Bi’lin is quite famous especially among Israeli officials. While crossing the border, one might be asked if he/she has been to Bi’lin. So yes, I have comitted this serious crime and I went there 🙂 All I’m going to do here is to show you some pictures so you will have an idea of what it looks like. (more…)

The past week I have not been in Palestine. I went to travel, to see different places, maybe to get away “from the conflict” – think about something else. You might have guessed it – it seems impossible for me to actually get away from it. These are a few and short moments I want to share, thoughts I want to give you.

We have written about the weekly non-violent demonstrations in Al Ma’sara village near Bethlehem village many times. This is a video that friends of ours produced introducing you shortly to the situation in the village.

This is an AIC video.

This text is a little long – I will appreciate if you read it but I will first sum it up in three quotations from three people that came to visit.

“I had no idea. I cannot believe all this is actually true.”

“I wish I could stay in Palestine much longer.”

“Before I came I thought you were being too subjective, too emotional. When I return home, people will say the same thing about me. But in fact, it is difficult not to get emotional about the situation here.”

I want to tell you about three people. One visitor who did not know anything about the situation here, one girl who had known a lot before she came and one who had known little.
